Activities

...a weekly activities programme...

Students studying for their GCSEs at Lansdowne enjoy a weekly activities programme throughout their first year and for the first term of the second year. Learning at Lansdowne extends beyond the classroom and these excursions augment and enhance subject tuition, raising students’ cultural and scientific awareness as well as understanding of the city and country in which they study.

Typical destinations for these Thursday afternoon outings might include the National Gallery, the Museum of London, the Natural History Museum, the Tate Modern, the Imperial War Museum, the Tower of London, the Science Museum and The Globe Theatre. These visits will occasionally be interspersed with more funfilled excursions, such as ten-pin bowling, ice-skating or a visit to the cinema.

Extra-curricular Activities

All students are encouraged to involve themselves in a variety of extra-curricular activities whether it be joining the thriving football or basketball team, weekly badminton sessions, table tennis, pool or a club/society that they may want to form.

Sport

GCSE students will have sports activities as part of their timetable. Other students are able to participate in various College sporting activities on a voluntary basis.
